This photographer is a new discovery of mine, his photos are beautiful, ambiguous, enchanting and surreal, all of which I consider to be most important in a good photograph. Despite the fact that many will consider him outdated (most of his work was done around the 1930s) his work lives on and to this day he acts as an inspiration to some of the best photographers. The thing that first struck me about Munkácsi's work was the remarkable sense of movement throughout, considering the time at which the photos were taken. He was said to have been one of the first people to use movement within photography. If anything I would say that he was the start of modern photography, even all that time ago he has shaped the way photography is today.
